Upcoming events to foster creative minorities
1 November, 2024

Since launching the Thomas More Centre digital newsletter a fortnight ago, TMC executive director Anna Krohn has been busy outlining the importance of fostering “creative minorities” – of building a movement that holds firmly to the unchanging principles of Christian social teaching while adapting itself to the ever-evolving 21st-century landscape.

To that end, she has been spreading the word in Geelong, Bendigo, and Ballarat, while our Queensland organiser, Mark Makowiecki, has been sharing our plans with groups in Kingaroy, Maryborough, and Bundaberg.

The time is more opportune than ever to draw people to the “creative minority”, and to form “creative minorities” wherever they are, on a quest to renew a broken, secular society.

Part of this quest is listening to the wisdom of individuals who are playing their part in this grassroots cultural movement – and the TMC offers just that opportunity.

What's On

Free talk by Gary Furnell

At 6pm on Thursday, November 9, Gary Furnell will be giving a talk in the Mary Immaculate Church Hall, Annerley (Brisbane). Gary is the secretary of the Australian Chesterton Society and a frequent contributor to Quadrant and News Weekly. The talk is entitled "Jacques Maritain and the Spirit of Creativity" and should be of interest to anyone wishing to live more creatively. While no RSVP is necessary, we’d be grateful if you could register your interest here.

Interview with Bug Hall

Also in the second week of November, Mark Makowiecki will be interviewing former actor Bug Hall - of Little Rascals fame - about his faith and his recently embraced agrarian life. The interview will be pre-recorded, and will hopefully be online on YouTube by the end of the month.

And more exciting things to come – watch this space!
